## History
ChikoChan was started by me on **June 20, 2026**, inspired by imageboards such as 4chan and others.
At first, ChikoChan didn't even have a homepage, it only had **/chiko/**, which was very first board.
A few weeks after opening, the site started receiving a lot of spam posts. You can read more about what happened here:

And yeah... that's pretty much the story of ChikoChan so far.
# FAQ
### What is an imageboard?
An imageboard is a type of online forum where people can create threads, post images, and reply to other posts. Don't need an account.
### What is a fortune?
fortune is a random message that appear in a post when using the fortune feature. By typeing #fortune on the Name box.
### What is sage?
Sage lets you reply to a thread without bumping it back to the top of the board.
### Can I delete posts I make?
Yes! You can delete your own posts by selecting the checkbox next to the post, then clicking the Remove button at the bottom-right of the page.
If you set a password when making the post, enter that password to delete it. If you didn't set one, ChikoChan usually creates a password automatically, so you can normally just click Delete. ^-^
### What is the purple text?
purple text is ChikoChan's version of **greentext**, a style commonly used on imageboards such as 4chan.
Greentext is text that appears green when a line starts with `>`. People often use it for story, jokes, or describing something that happened.
On ChikoChan, it works the same way, except the text appears **purple** instead of green.
